The Mood, 1953 — The Glamour Series

Marilyn was a special guest at Danny Thomas' St. Jude Children's Hospital charity event at the Hollywood Bowl. In Bernard of Hollywood's series of photographs, he captured Marilyn's many moods that evening, including this pensive moment. As her good friend, poet Norman Rosten, said, "Whatever the reasons, her inability to have a child was to loom as a crucial disappointment in her life."
