Susan Bernard is the author of six previous books including the bestselling Bernard of Hollywood’s Ultimate Pin-Up Book (TASHEN 2003) and her work has been translated into more than 27 languages.

Her father was the famed photographer Bruno Bernard, better known as Bernard of Hollywood, one the most sought after photographers during Hollywood’s Golden Age. Shortly after her father’s passing in 1987, Susan founded her company Bernard of Hollywood Publishing/Renaissance Road, Inc. to keep his legacy alive. For anyone else, that would solely have meant preserving, exhibiting, publishing, and licensing his photographs, but not for Susan. She has built Bernard of Hollywood into an international brand that incorporates the original work across multiple platforms. In 2011, Susan entered a partnership with Authentic Brand Group, who had recently acquired the Marilyn Monroe Estate.

Susan has a cult following. At the age of 16, she starred in Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!. Playboy Magazine has named her as one the 100 most beautiful woman of the century. Her other on-screen highlights include co-starring with such legends as Orson Welles and Henry Fonda. Susan also co-starred on “General Hospital” for two years. For the networks, she wrote and developed the docudramas “The Diary of Anais Nin,” “The Nellie Bly Story” and “The Ernie Davis Story.” Despite no longer being married to Jason Miller, the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright who portrayed the role of Father Damien Karras in The Exorcist, the two worked on many projects together over the years and remained close friends until his death. Their son Joshua Miller followed in his parent’s footsteps. His first novel, The MAO Game, was published when he was 21 years old, and Susan, along with Whoopi Goldberg, co-produced the adaptation.

Following her domestic tour for Marilyn: Intimate Exposures, Susan will travel to Europe (2012) where she will mount exhibitions in Paris, Berlin and the U.K., which will coincide with the publication of the foreign editions of her book.

A resident of Los Angeles’ Hancock Park, she is an active member of PEN Center USA and is currently working on a novel.
